Do you like to learn how to create products that sell?

Do you want to add a new product line to your store?

Do you want to create unique designs and do it using free software and free images?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, I have the answer for you.

Hi, my name is Marian Blake. Over the last few years, I have made it my quest to find digital product niches that are simple to make and that are saleable on sites such as Etsy and or your own website. I especially like to create digital products that I can create, publish and leave to sell so I can spend my time creating more products.

To do this, I spend hours learning different software and diving into digital product niches to find products that sell that I can make quickly and easily.

So what have I found?

I have found a product that sells on Etsy and similar sites as well as your own website. You can make using public domain images, or your own designs or even with a few words that aren't even your own. Sometimes, you can take the same image and use it to create two versions of the same product. Imagine, take one free public domain image and use it to create two products or one saying and create different variations. Now that makes sense - two products from one!

To do this, I am using a software that may be new to you. There is a learning curve, but it is worth the effort to learn it. Don't worry, I have gone through the learning phase so all you have to do is follow along.

Why am I using this software?

  • It has many features that make creating a breeze..
  • It allows you to take small images (yes, even JPEGs and PNGs) and make them huge without losing definition and getting pixilation or vice versa.
  • It allows you to save in many formats so you can create multiple products with the same design.
  • You can import an image and then manipulate it.
  • You can start with a blank canvas and create your own design.
  • It is versatile.
  • And last, IT IS FREE TO USE. No purchase fees. No monthly fees. No update fees. Zip, Nada, Rien, None.

Two examples of Stencils you will learn - From a text font and a line image

I am so happy to announce my new course in my Marian's Minis series.

Stencils

How to create Text and Image Stencils in Inkscape

Before I go any further, I think I should introduce you to Marian's Minis courses. Each Marian's Minis course is a short course that covers one product type. They are not difficult to create, so you can either sell them as your main product line, or sell them as a sideline. They are also great for people who have limited time to create products.

What will you get with the course?

Included in the Stencil course is

  • Research into the niche.
  • What are the TWO types of stencils and how to create them.
  • How to use public domain fonts to create one type of design.
  • How to use public domain images, including line images, to make a stencil.
  • and much more.....

You can make Stencils designs big or small.

You can create them so your customers can print them or supply them ready for use.

You can create them so the customer can print them and cut them out.

You can create them in different image formats.

You can create them using free public domain images and then they are yours to use, sell or give away.

If you can follow instructions and can click a mouse, you can do this.

About Inkscape

I know many of you haven't heard of Inkscape and wonder what type of image software it is. Inkscape is a vector graphics program on the same lines as Adobe Illustrator and Affinity Designer. It is not a copy of either, but works similarly to get the same results.

Okay, it isn't perfect. BUT it is very, very good. Inkscape is a free to use, open-source vector graphics editor. The website admits it is not as good as Adobe Illustrator for some things, but they say it can be "used to create, edit, render vector graphics, including complex drawings and illustrations". I have found that it works very well for me as a digital product designer, especially for Press Ons which often need a transparent background.
